It was kind of a sad day to leave the great missionaries of the Highland Heights district. I left them with "Obedience is the price, Faith is the power, Love is the Motive, the Spirit is the Key and Christ is the reason." We will see them at zone conferences and Mission Leader Councils.  Many of them moved this last transfer as well. It was great to get to know them and to help them whenever we could.  So I thought I would just post a few pictures of the new apartment.  Mostly pictures this time with very few words. Out building - on Lee's Crossing Drive We get some sun in the afternoon in the Living room Dining room area Kitchen including some grand children art Office - I actually do a lot of work here  View of the Kitchen Bedroom This was a planning meeting for the roll out of smart phones.  I really was not helping - just wanted to make sure I got a phone!

We have been transferred!

Just a quick note - as of tomorrow we will no longer be in Northern Kentucky.  We have received new ward assignments and are moving into Cincinnati. Our new mailing address is 5375 Lee's Crossing Drive #7 Cincinnati OH 45239 This puts us about 5 minutes from the Mission office, 10 minutes from the Mission Home and 20 Minutes from the Cincinnati/Norwood building where we will be serving. Been a busy two weeks.  Since we are moving we will be without internet service till be get it hooked up again. We will kind of be able to stay in touch when we are at the office. Much Love Elder and Sister Wendel
January 9th 2018 Just three bits of news to share. First - the weather.  The last almost three weeks have been brutal.  Starting on Christmas Eve the night time temperatures were in the low single digits.  Some nights were below zero.  The cars in this mission with the exception of one or two are all parked outside.  We had many, many dead batteries, a couple of key fobs that quit working, and several cars that slid into curbs - sometimes hard enough to puncture the sidewall of the tire.  As you can well imagine, when the temperature gets down to -4 during the night, it really doesn't warm up that much during the daytime.  Sunday the 7th of January we finally got above freezing.  First time since December 24th.  It was a long cold spell and we are really glad it is over. Second - our first district meeting.  Last Wednesday we were able, for the first time since we have been here, to attend our district meeting.  Our district has one set of sister missionaries, three sets of e

A Christmas in Ohio Merry Christmas and Happy New year from the OCM (Ohio Cincinnati Mission) or as some say the "Only Celestial Mission". We decided that for Christmas we would each shop for the other at Family Dollar.  No budget amount and what you bought didn't necessarily have to make any sense at all. So on the way home from "work" on day we stop and went shopping.  Even the bags were a gift.  It was a little tricky checking out.  I had the only debit card so I checked out then unloaded into the van and went back in and gave Cindy the card. Then later in that week - Christmas Eve for me, the gifts got wrapped and placed back into the bags.  The next morning - Christmas day we put on some Christmas music and opened our gifts. So we had brownie mix but no oil.  We had to make another trip to the store to get some oil so we could make the brownies. Different Christmas but still a special one.  Christmas Eve we went to a combined sacrament meetin
